Franklin is a practising criminal lawyer with over 20 years of experience in Malta’s justice system. His professional journey began at the Courts of Justice, where he spent 21 years in various roles — including 12 years as Deputy Registrar of the Criminal Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal and later as Director and Registrar for the Criminal Courts and Tribunals.
His academic background combines legal expertise with a broader understanding of youth and criminological issues. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Youth and Community Studies, a Diploma in the Laws of Procedure, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Master’s in Advocacy from the University of Malta, as well as a Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Portsmouth.
